I'm Daejhonnel Denton — a software engineer in Kingston, Jamaica, working under my own company, Coronation Market and Software.
I've spent about five years shipping production software across web, Android and backend: mobile work in Objective-C, Java and Kotlin, web in JavaScript, Angular, PHP and .NET, and databases in MySQL and Postgres. Agile teams, JIRA boards, code review, the normal machinery of building software with other people.
What I care about is the boring, unglamorous end of the work: does the data model hold up, can somebody see a row they shouldn't, does the thing still work on a bad connection in the middle of Half Way Tree. Most software fails there, not in the design.
Right now I split my time between Coronation Market — a live marketplace with real money moving through it — Night Haul, a game in production, and client work for businesses around Kingston that need a website, a Google listing and a WhatsApp setup that works.
If you want the short version: I'd rather tell you the honest thing early than the comfortable thing now.
